Video<br />

Color Temperature<br />

Set this to High for cooler color with more blue, set to Medium for more natural color, set to Standard for accurate<br />

color or set to Black/White for more reddish color.<br />

Black Enhancement<br />

Use this function to enhance the shadow detail <strong>in</strong> dark scenes us<strong>in</strong>g the sett<strong>in</strong>gs off, low, middle and high.<br />

NOTE: 1. If CONTRAST is selected, you are adjust<strong>in</strong>g CONTRAST. The additional menu items BRIGHTNESS,<br />

COLOR, TINT, and SHARPNESS can be selected and adjusted <strong>in</strong> the same manner.<br />

2. It may be necessary to adjust TINT to obta<strong>in</strong> optimum picture quality when us<strong>in</strong>g the COMPONENT<br />

VIDEO Y-PBPR <strong>in</strong>put jacks.<br />

3. CABLE and AIR share a Video sett<strong>in</strong>g. Also, each of the video <strong>in</strong>puts have their own <strong>in</strong>dependent<br />

sett<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />

Contrast Mode<br />

Use this function to choose between 2 Contrast Mode sett<strong>in</strong>gs. Set to DYNAMIC for darker images more <strong>in</strong> the<br />

level of Black, set to NORMAL for a balanced White to Black level.<br />

Noise Reduction<br />

The NOISE REDUCTION function automatically reduces conspicuous noise <strong>in</strong> the picture without degrad<strong>in</strong>g<br />

picture quality. Set NOISE REDUCTION to OFF if the TV experiences picture block<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

MPEG NR<br />

The MPEG NR (Noise Reduction) function automatically reduces mosquito noise <strong>in</strong> the picture without degrad<strong>in</strong>g<br />

picture quality. Set MPEG NR to OFF if the TV experiences picture block noise.<br />

Auto Movie Mode<br />

The AUTO MOVIE MODE function turn ON or OFF the 3:2 PULLDOWN DETECTION SPECIAL FEATURE.<br />

Theatrical movies are shot on film at 24 frames or still pictures per second, <strong>in</strong>stead of 30 frames or 60 fields like<br />

video. When film is transferred to video for television view<strong>in</strong>g, the disparity between the two frame rates must be<br />

reconciled. This <strong>in</strong>volves a process known as 3:2 pulldown.<br />

When AUTO MOVIE MODE is turned ON from the VIDEO menu, your <strong>Hitachi</strong> <strong>LCD</strong> Television will activate the<br />

circuitry for this special feature to improve video performance when watch<strong>in</strong>g film based sources.<br />

Auto Color<br />

The AUTO COLOR function automatically monitors and adjusts the color to ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong> constant color levels even after<br />

a program or channel changes. It also ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>s natural flesh tones while preserv<strong>in</strong>g fidelity of background colors.<br />

NOTE: When receiv<strong>in</strong>g Antenna Digital Channel, us<strong>in</strong>g Component or HDMI <strong>in</strong>put, Auto Color will not be<br />

available (grayed out).<br />

On-Screen Display<br />

Black Side <strong>Panel</strong><br />

The BLACK SIDE PANEL function turns the gray side<br />

bars from gray to black when watch<strong>in</strong>g 4:3 signals<br />

<strong>in</strong> Standard mode.<br />

1. Press the CURSOR PAD or to set to ON or OFF.<br />
