Audio Source<br />

Multi-Channel Television Sound will allow you to select STEREO (a stereo broadcast), MONO (monaural sound)<br />

used when receiv<strong>in</strong>g a weak stereo broadcast or SECOND AUDIO PROG (SAP) which may be a secondary<br />

language, weather report, etc.<br />

Internal Speakers<br />

This function is useful when sett<strong>in</strong>g up the external speakers.<br />

ON<br />

TV as Center<br />

OFF<br />

Select this feature if us<strong>in</strong>g the <strong>in</strong>ternal speakers only.<br />

Select this feature when sett<strong>in</strong>g up external speakers from a separate stereo system.<br />

The TV’s speakers will work as the center speaker.<br />

Select this feature if you prefer to use only speakers from a separate stereo system.<br />

Auto Noise Cancel<br />

This function elim<strong>in</strong>ates the noise between stations. If a channel is tuned and is noisy, this function will<br />

automatically elim<strong>in</strong>ate the audio for that channel.<br />

Perfect Volume<br />

This function will automatically adjust volume so each channel and <strong>in</strong>put has the same average volume level.<br />

Loudness<br />

Set this function to ON to emphasize bass and treble at low volume levels.<br />

Language<br />

Some programs transmit more than one DTV language option. Most will have English as a default language. The<br />

language function will allow you to select up to 4 language options (if available).<br />

Digital Output<br />

This function allows you to select between Dolby® Digital and PCM. This sett<strong>in</strong>g will be fed <strong>in</strong>to optical output.<br />

On-Screen Display<br />

Dolby ® Digital - Select this feature if the TV is connected to an amplifier/receiver with a Dolby®Digital only<br />

decoder; it will provide six <strong>in</strong>dependent soundtrack channels through the optical output jack (Digital Audio).<br />

NOTE:<br />

trademarks of Dolby Laboratories.<br />

PCM - Select this feature if the TV is connected to an amplifier/receiver with a PCM only decoder; it will provide<br />

two <strong>in</strong>dependent soundtrack channels through the optical output jack (Digital Audio).<br />

DRC<br />

Dynamic Range Compression - Use this function to<br />

compress the range of sound volume. By compress<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the range of sound volume, it is possible not only to<br />

suppress the output of loud sound at night but also to<br />

raise the volume of low sound. The default sett<strong>in</strong>g is ON.<br />

Use the CURSOR PAD or to select the chosen<br />

Digital or PCM decoder capabilities.<br />

NOTE: 1.­ The DRC control affects only Dolby ® Digital<br />

signals decoded <strong>in</strong>ternally by the TV.<br />

2.­ DRC does not affect the Dolby Digital bitstream<br />

available at the digital audio output.<br />
