Parliamentarians <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> Women’s <strong>Health</strong>, a collaborati<strong>on</strong> of the Internati<strong>on</strong>al Center <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> Research<br />

<strong>on</strong> Women (<strong>ICRW</strong>), the Center <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> the Study of AIDS at the University of Pretoria (CSA), Realizing<br />

Rights: The Ethical Globalizati<strong>on</strong> Initiative (EGI), and Internati<strong>on</strong>al <str<strong>on</strong>g>Community</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> Women Living<br />

with HIV/AIDS (ICW). This guide is <strong>on</strong>e of several publicati<strong>on</strong>s developed by the Parliamentarians<br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> Women’s <strong>Health</strong> project. It is based <strong>on</strong> the project’s experience of organizing community<br />

assessments <strong>on</strong> women’s health in Kenya and Namibia. HIV-positive women played a central role in<br />

organizing the community assessments, al<strong>on</strong>g with project staff, parliamentarians and civil society<br />

organizati<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

The guide was developed as a resource <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> members of Parliament (MPs) and organizati<strong>on</strong>s who<br />

would like to do similar community assessments <strong>on</strong> women’s health. It provides a step-by-step guide<br />

<strong>on</strong> how to organize the community assessment process.<br />
