The 23 rd Vilenica Festival will pay particular attention to the
Slovene poetess Svetlana Makarovič. For the publication of
selected and translated poems from her collection Samost
(Aloneness) in the Litterae Slovenicae Series, the author will
appear at both central festival events: the reception of the
Vilenica participants by the Mayor of the City of Ljubljana
and the award-giving ceremony in the Vilenica Cave. Her
book will be presented to the public, international and
Slovene, in the Konzorcij Bookshop, together with a translation
of selected plays written by the Vilenica 2007 Prize
winner, Goran Stefanovski.
Svetlana Makarovič, Slovenia
Svetlana Makarovič (1939) was born in Maribor and
started her career as a professional stage actress. Today she
is a professional writer, poet, and one of the best-known
Slovenian authoresses. Her poetry is traditional rather than
avant-garde. The curiosity of her poetry lies in paraphrasing
the motifs and the tone of Slovenian folk poems, as
well as in creating an obscure, balladic atmosphere. Her
poems range from free to fixed forms. She has published
several books of poetry: Somrak (Twilight, 1967), Kresna
noč (The Midsummer Night, 1968), Volčje jagode (The
Deadly Nightshades, 1972), Srčevec (The Heart Potion,
1973), Pelin žena (The Wormwood Woman, 1974), Sosed
gora (Neighbour Mountain, 1980) and others. Makarovič
is a notable author for the younger generations: Pekarna
Mišmaš (The Mišmaš bakery), Sapramiška (Sapramouse).
She has published more than thirty books and fifteen plays
for children. She refused the National Award: Prešeren Fund
Prize. Her works have been translated into a number of
foreign languages.
Na 23. Vilenici bo posebne pozornosti deležna slovenska
pesnica Svetlana Makarovič. Izid prevoda izbranih
pesmi iz zbirke Samost v zbirki Litterae Slovenicae bo
pospremil nastop avtorice na obeh osrednjih dogodkih
festivala: na sprejemu udeležencev Vilenice pri županu
Mestne občine Ljubljana in na slovesnosti ob podelitvi
nagrade v jami Vilenica. Avtoričina knjiga bo mednarodni
festivalski in domači publiki predstavljena v knjigarni
Konzorcij skupaj s prevodom dram dobitnika nagrade
vilenica 2007 Gorana Stefanovskega.
Svetlana Makarovič, Slovenija
Svetlana Makarovič (1939) se je rodila v Mariboru in začela
svojo kariero kot poklicna gledališka igralka. Danes je po
poklicu pisateljica, pesnica in ena najbolj prepoznavnih
slovenskih avtoric. Njena poezija je bolj tradicionalna kot
avantgardna. Posebnost njenih pesmi je parafraziranje
motivov in tona slovenskih ljudskih pesmi ter ustvarjanje
obskurne, baladne atmosfere. Njenim pesmim vlada včasih
stroga forma, drugič pa gre za prosto poezijo. Objavila
je več pesniških zbirk: Somrak (1967), Kresna noč (1968),
Volčje jagode (1972), Srčevec (1973), Pelin žena (1974),
Sosed gora (1980) in druge. Makarovičeva je pomembno
zaznamovala tudi mlajše generacije: Pekarna Mišmaš, Sapramiška.
Objavila je več kot trideset knjig in petnajst iger
za otroke. Odklonila je Prešernovo nagrado. Njena dela so
prevedena v številne tuje jezike.
