The 6 th International Comparative Literature Colloquium
In collaboration with the Slovene Comparative Literature
Association, with the Department of Comparative
Literature and Literary Theory (Faculty of Arts, University
of Ljubljana), and the Institute of Slovene Literature and
Literary Science (Scientific Research Centre of the Slovene
Academy of Sciences and Arts), we are organising as part
of the 23rd Vilenica Festival the 6th International Comparative
Literature Colloquium on the topic of “The Author:
Who or What Is Writing Literature?”, chaired by Dr Vanesa
Matajc and Dr Gašper Troha. The speakers’ contributions
will revolve around three central themes: (1) the Renaissance
and the invention of the author in modern Western
literary theory; Ancient Greece and the question of “who or
what is creating literary texts (or literary works of art)”; the
Middle Ages and the concept of the authority of a (literary)
name (“Auctor”); (2) 20th century concepts of the author:
the problem of the author as the subject of a literary work,
the problem of language as the subject of a literary text,
the reader’s adoption of the author’s creative role; neoavant-gardes
and the realisation of literature; the concept
of intertextuality; the virtual author in the new media; (3)
postcolonial studies and changes in the literary triad: the
author as an anonymous voice in oral literary tradition; (4)
the author’s role in the historical inventions of tradition: the
author as a discursive construct in establishing the identities
of various social groups and their histories; the author
as an instrument for interpreting tradition, the author as
interpreter, the interpreter as an authority in the context of
political history, national cultural politics, gender politics,
etc.; (5) the author’s function in the concept of literature as
autonomous reality: the author as the subject of literariness.
6. Mednarodni komparativistični kolokvij
V sodelovanju s Slovenskim društvom za primerjalno
književnost, Oddelkom za primerjalno književnost in
literarno teorijo (Filozofska fakulteta) ter Inštitutom za
slovensko literaturo in literarne vede (ZRC SAZU) bomo
v okviru 23. Vilenice priredili 6. Mednarodni komparativistični
kolokvij na temo »Avtor: kdo ali kaj piše literaturo?«,
ki ga bosta vodila dr. Vanesa Matajc in dr. Gašper
Troha. Referenti bodo razpravljali v okviru treh osrednjih
tem: 1. renesansa in iznajdba avtorja v moderni zahodni
literarni teoriji; antična Grčija in vprašanje »kdo ali kaj
ustvarja literarni tekst (ali: literarno umetniško delo)«;
srednji vek in koncept avtoritete (literarnega) imena
(»Auctor«); 2. koncepti avtorja v 20. stoletju: problem
avtorja kot subjekta literarnega dela, problem jezika
kot subjekta literarnega teksta, bralčevo prevzemanje
ustvarjalne vloge avtorja; neoavantgarde in udejanjanje
literature; koncept intertekstualnosti; virtualni avtor v
novih medijih; 3. postkolonialne študije in spremembe
v literarni triadi: avtor kot anonimni glas v ustni literarni
tradiciji; 4. vloga avtorja v zgodovinskih invencijah
tradicije: avtor kot diskurzivni konstrukt v vzpostavljanju
identitet različnih socialnih skupin in njihovih zgodovin;
avtor kot sredstvo interpretiranja tradicije, avtor kot
interpret, interpret kot avtoriteta v kontekstu politične
zgodovine, nacionalne kulturne politike, politike spola
itn.; 5. funkcija avtorja v konceptu literature kot avtonomne
realnosti: avtor kot subjekt literarnosti.
Kolokvij bo potekal v četrtek, 4. 9., ob 15.00 in v petek, 5. 9., ob
10.00 v Poročni dvorani v Lipici.
The Colloquium will take place on Thursday, 4 Sept at 15.00
and on Friday, 5 Sept at 10.00 in the Wedding Hall in Lipica.
