The members of the Katalena music group are: Vesna
Zornik (vocalist), Polona Janežič (keyboard, backing vocalist),
Boštjan Gombač (clarinet, flutes, percussion, backing
vocalist), Tibor Mihelič Syed (bass guitar, backing vocalist),
Boštjan Narat (guitar, mandolin, backing vocalist) and
Robert Rebolj (drums, percussion).

each other. Music takes the words beyond their meaning,
the words enrich the sound with meaning. Sometimes words
and music observe each other, go one alongside the other,
sometimes they stand opposite each other, but they are always
feelingly eavesdropping on that first thin line marking
the sense of hearing: on the rippled silence.

Glasbeno-pesniški projekt pesnice, esejiste in kritičarke
Barbare Korun (1963) in glasbenika s tridesetletno
svetovno glasbeno kariero, Zlatka Kaučiča (1953), ni
zvočna knjiga ali glasbeni plošček. Pesnikova beseda
je prvi impulz, kot kamen, vržen v sinje jezero tišine.
Glas in glasba se prepleteta in obogatita drug drugega.
Glasba pelje besedo čez mejo njenega pomena, beseda
oplemeniti zvok s pomenom. Včasih se gledata druga v
drugi, včasih gresta vštric, včasih druga drugi nasproti,
a zmeraj si čuteče prisluškujeta na tisti prvi tanki meji
sluha: na vzvalovani tišini.

The poetry-music project of the poet, essayist, and critic Barbara
Korun (1963) and a musician with thirty years of career,
Zlatko Kaučič (1953), is not a sound book or an audio cd. The
poet’s word is the first impulse, as a stone, thrown into the

Umetnost gane, kadar je resnična, brez sprenevedanja in
želje po ugajanju. Opus Svetlane Makarovič vrača umetnosti,
kar je njenega – avtentičnost in prvinskost. Njeni šansoni
povedo tisto, o čemer molčimo, vidijo tja, kamor nočemo
pogledati, in razgaljajo tam, kjer je največ sprenevedanja.
Vselej pa zadenejo v živo, tudi če so izzivalni, cinični, nežni
ali grenki. Šansone Svetlane Makarovič interpretira igralka
in pevka Janja Majzelj ob spremljavi pianista Jožija Šaleja.

Art moves, when it is real, without false pretences and when it is
devoid of the need to please. The oeuvre of Svetlana Makrovič
gives back art what is art’s – authenticity and essence. Her
chansons tell what is left unspoken, see what we do not want to
look at and lay bare where there are pretences in abundance.
After all they always strike the audience, whether they are
provocative, cynical, gentle or bitter. The chansons by Svetlana
Makarovič are interpreted by the actress and singer Janja
Majzelj accompanied by the piano player Joži Šalej.
