The study of the circulatory, respiratory, nervous, and
muscular systems during and after physical exercise.

History and development, conduct of coaching, training
methods, strategy, rules, and systems of leading coaches.
P E 3483 Elementary School Methods and Materials
3 credits: 3 hours lecture
Designed to prepare elementary school teachers to
conduct programs in health and physical education
which promote fitness and wellness. Required for all
elementary school teachers.
P E 3493 Drivers Education I
3 credits: 3 hours lecture
The highway transportation system, traffic problems,
driving task perception, and implementation of the
driver education classroom program.
P E 3503 Adaptive Physical Education

Methods, techniques, and special program designs for
the mildly handicapped child.

Human movement in terms of body actions, effort,
space, and relationships attending to the developmental
needs, interests, and potentialities of children. Emphasis
on planning and organizing experiences applying Laban’s
movement framework to activities and lead-up games.

organization, administration, and daily operation of
physical education activity programs.

Growth and maturational factors influencing motor skill
development and learning from infancy to adulthood.
Planning, implementing, and evaluating of developmental
physical education lessons for preschool and early
school (K2) children.
P E 3563 Advanced Athletic Training
3 credits: 3 hours lecture
Prerequisite: P E 2313
Corequisites: P E 3571, P E3581, P E 4811, P E 4851
In-depth study of specific sports injuries and special
rehabilitation procedures for therapeutic modalities used
for athletic injuries. Current procedures and operational
techniques for training equipment and devices will be
covered. Medical intervention and surgical reconstruction
will be included.
P E 3571 Practicum in Athletic Training: Taping and
Wrapping
1 credit: 1 hour laboratory
Provides the student with a supervised laboratory
experience in taping and wrapping for male and female
athletic teams in high schools and colleges.
P E 3581 Practicum in Athletic Training: Modalities
1 credit: 1 hour laboratory
Provides the student with a supervised laboratory
experience in modality operations on male and female
athletic teams in high schools and colleges.

that includes observations, small group teaching, and
