The seminar consists of interactive meetings, including lectures, group discussions, <strong>and</strong><br />
student presentations.<br />

Description of the Course<br />
This training will focus on giving students h<strong>and</strong>s-on experience with the application of<br />
psychometrics. Students will work together in small groups on psychometric analyses<br />
of existing research datasets, supervised by one or two faculty members. In addition to<br />
scheduled lectures <strong>and</strong> discussions with experts in psychometrics, students will have<br />
the opportunity to consult a statistician for their analyses. Beyond the primary goal<br />
of learning more about how to evaluate <strong>and</strong> improve the psychometric properties of<br />
research instruments, students will also become acquainted with current research on<br />
psychopathology being conducted by senior staff, post-docs, <strong>and</strong> PhD students at the<br />
UM.<br />

Attendance at required sessions, participation, <strong>and</strong> a final written report.
