Chapter 6 - Education <strong>and</strong> Examination Regulations<br />

3. In the case of fraud, the Board of Examiners will apply the same fraud regulation as<br />

set out in the Rules <strong>and</strong> Regulations for the Research Master’s Examination (appendix<br />

3, article 5). This document also specifies what is understood by fraud.<br />

Article 3.14 Results<br />

Students who have complied with the requirements for the Research Master’s<br />

examination <strong>and</strong> who wish to receive the relevant certificate must submit a request to<br />

the Exam Administration office to determine the result of the examination, at least one<br />

month prior to the date of graduation.<br />

Article 3.15 Examination<br />

1. The Board of Examiners confirms the result of the Research Master’s examination as<br />

soon as the Exam Administration office has received sufficient proof that the student<br />

has passed the assessments. The student, who has met all the requirements for the<br />

Research Master’s examination, will be conferred the Research Master Degree <strong>and</strong> will<br />

receive the diploma associated with the Research Master’s examination as proof of<br />

this.<br />

2. Before the Board of Examiners determines the result of the examination, it is entitled<br />

to enquire into the student’s knowledge in respect of one or more parts of the study<br />

programme, should the results of the relevant assessments give reason for this.<br />

Article 3.16 Degree, Diploma<br />

1. He/she who has passed the examination successfully will be awarded the degree of<br />

‘Master of Science’.<br />

2. The diploma issued as a result of having passed the examination successfully will<br />

contain:<br />

a. the name of the study programme;<br />

b. the degree that has been awarded;<br />

c. the most recent date on which the study programme has been accredited, or<br />

alternatively has undergone the test of being a new study programme.<br />

3. The diploma will be signed by the Dean of the Faculty <strong>and</strong> the Chair of the Board of<br />

Examiners.<br />

4. The presentation of the diploma is done in public, unless the Board of Examiners<br />

decides otherwise in special cases.<br />

5. A separate list of marks will be issued with the diploma.<br />

6. An English diploma supplement will be issued with the certificate. This will<br />

specifically mention the specialization followed.<br />

7. The Board of Examiners can award the diploma with the qualification of ‘with<br />

distinction’ in accordance with the Rules <strong>and</strong> Regulations of the Research Master’s<br />

examination.<br />

Article 3.17 Right of Appeal<br />

A student has the right to appeal to the Board of Appeal for Examinations in accordance<br />

with article 7.61 of the law. This is clearly stated on the form on which a decision by the<br />

examiner <strong>and</strong> the Board of Examiners that is open to appeal is communicated to the
