For back up power, the Nordic genebank has given a green light to purchase a generator. In order to woo more local support, there is need for public awareness activities. Decision makers should be sensitized on the need for conserving biodiversity. This will require financial support from well-wishers. In addition, to create public awareness, the genebank intends to write proposals for submission to different national and international organisations for support. Computers are a necessity to proper management of ex-situ collections. Computers that are used are almost obsolete except for one. Malawi will try to get support from government resources to acquire new computers. This does not deter well-wishers who can ably provide support in this area.
