CLEANING
Cuspidor unit
• Cleaning vaccum and saliva ejector lines
▪ The sucking unit comes into contact with
secretions, spit and blood that contain bacteria
every day. Be sure to clean and sterilize it with
ORTLO PLUS made by Durr at the end of each
work day.
CAUTION
Do not use strongly acidic cleaning agents or
alkaline pipe cleaning agents, which may cause
corrosion of metals, etc.

▪ The vacuum handpiece may be disassembled as
shown on the left. Remove dust, etc., from the
filter and clean and disinfect it with ID212 or
FD333 made by Durr.
▪ Pull the hose connector to disconnect the vacuum
hose.
▪ The filter is consumable. Replace it when it is
noticeably clogged.
▪ The vacuum tip, saliva ejector nozzle, cap, filter
and body may be sterilized in an autoclave (20
minutes at 121°C or 12 minutes at 132°C).
Remove residues and clean carefully with
running water before sterilization. Sterilize the
body in an assembled condition in an autoclave.
▪ Be sure to put into a sterilization pouch when
sterilizing.
▪ The cap, filter and body are made of resin. They
may become deteriorated if they are sterilized in
an autoclave many times.
The allowable sterilization frequency in an
autoclave is 250 times. (Standard of handpiece
for dental use JIS T 5906:01)
▪ The allowable sterilization frequency of valves in
an autoclave is 100 times. (Since loads are
applied to it when sliding)
▪ After autoclave sterilization, the cap, filter, body
and valve are subject to discoloration, which
does not have a negative effect on performance.
