8.7 Amendments<br />

6) Receive, file, and forward to the Planning and Zoning Commission all<br />

applications for preliminary and final plats and the supporting documents.<br />

The Commission may from time to time on its own motion, by petition, or on<br />

recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission, amend, supplement or repeal the<br />

provisions of this Ordinance following a public hearing.<br />

Any person, firm or corporation which owns land is entitled to submit an application for<br />

amendment to the Zoning District Map.<br />

8.7.1 Procedure for Amendments:<br />

1) Applications for amendment shall be filed with the <strong>County</strong> Zoning<br />

Administrator.<br />

2) An application for amendment shall include:<br />

a) Name and address of the applicant. Name and address of the owner.<br />

If the applicant and the owner are different, the owner shall submit a<br />

signed statement authorizing the applicant as a representative.<br />

3) A legal description of the property (if the property has not been platted,<br />

provide a metes and bounds description), a parcel identification number, a<br />

copy of a recorded deed, the general parcel information page from the<br />

<strong>County</strong> Assessor, the Property Record Card Report from the <strong>County</strong><br />

Assessor, and a map of appropriate scale showing the area in question,<br />

current and proposed zoning and adjacent zoning.<br />

4) The nature of the change requested and reason for the change.<br />

5) A detailed description of any uses, building or structures that are proposed<br />

for the area covered by the petition.<br />

6) Any additional information requested by the Planning and Zoning<br />

Commission.<br />

7) The Planning and Zoning Commission shall hold a public hearing on any<br />

request for a zoning map amendment, a notice of which shall be published at<br />

least two weeks prior to the hearing in the official newspaper of the county.<br />

The notice of hearing shall include:<br />

a) the time and place of hearing;<br />

b) description of the property to be affected;<br />

c) the proposed use; and<br />
