Transport Regulation 2007 to:
• provide for a trial for 12 months
of a taxi pre-payment scheme
for taxi-cabs for which a
booking service is provided
by Central Coast Taxis,
• provide for offences, and
penalty notices for offences,
relating to payment of fares and
deposits and the provision of
information under that scheme.

Significant judicial decisions
AJO v Director General, Department of Transport [2012] NSWADT 101
This matter was an appeal to
the Administrative Decisions
Tribunal from a decision of the
Director General to suspend and
subsequently cancel the authority
to drive a bus issued to “AJO” under
the Passenger Transport Act 1990.
The relevant events took
place on a school bus and the
ADT made a non-publication
order which prevents the
disclosure of information that
may identify the driver or the
school children involved.
The ADT reviewed the law on the
suspension/cancellation criterion of
“fit and proper person” in relation
to authorities issued to drivers
public passenger vehicles under
the Passenger Transport Act 1990.
It also considered the operation
of the Guidelines for Managing
School Student Behaviour on Buses
issued under clause 99 of the
Passenger Transport Regulations
2007, offences relevant to drivers of
buses and the published policy on
use of hand-held mobile phones by
drivers of public passenger vehicles.
The original decisions were
affirmed by the ADT.
