Acting for the Camera<br />
(Middle School <strong>and</strong> Up) Learn to act for the camera <strong>and</strong> prepare for work in films,<br />
television, <strong>and</strong> commercials. Classic performances in film will be watched, studied,<br />
<strong>and</strong> discussed throughout this intensive class. Learn cold reads, preparation for<br />
scenes, internal dialogue, <strong>and</strong> monologues – all culminating into scene work<br />
with others. Provides an opportunity for an instructor-edited short scene shot, as<br />
sample reel in submission to student <strong>and</strong> independent films, or large productions.<br />

Market Garden<br />
(Adult) Ever dreamed of starting your own farm? In this interactive workshop, we’ll<br />
learn about types of sustainable farming careers in northern Illinois <strong>and</strong> southern<br />
Wisconsin, take part in a series of self-assessments, <strong>and</strong> be better prepared to<br />
decide whether to pursue a farming business. We’ll hear about regional training<br />
opportunities through the Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training<br />
(CRAFT), university extension, small business development centers, <strong>and</strong> others.<br />
Course includes a presentation of farming enterprises, a tour of a growing site,<br />
<strong>and</strong> an opportunity to ask questions about the development of successful local<br />
