Pedro Trevin, PE, LEED AP, serves as a principal technical professional and electrical engineer with <strong>Atkins</strong>’ A-E mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) group. He has 42 years of experience providing electrical engineering services for roadway lighting, office buildings, schools, hospitals, dormitories, parking garages, theaters, and detention facilities. He has also performed electrical engineering for parks and recreational facilities, airports, marinas, wastewater treatment plants and pump stations, solid waste facilities, apartment buildings, military facilities, port terminals, food markets, department/retail stores, shopping centers, rapid transit facilities, toll facilities, movable bridges, building recertifications, value engineering, due diligence reports (field inspection of existing buildings), and parking lot lighting. He has frequently served as electrical project manager on assignments from state and local agencies and is knowledgeable about the diverse regulations governing design on such projects. Mechanical engineering. Pelayo Calante, PE, LEED AP, has 28 years of extensive experience in the fields of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil and environmental engineering; quality control; and design and project management. His varied career includes work as a mechanical engineer, nuclear engineer, civil engineer, and environmental engineer. He has extensive knowledge of Florida Building codes and other design codes including the National Fire Protection Association; American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers; and American Society of Mechanical Engineers. As group manager with <strong>Atkins</strong>, Mr. Calante is responsible for the management and/or production of MEP-related projects. Parks and recreation. Kristin Caborn, CPRE, FCP, has 15 years of extensive parks and recreation management and planning experience involving managing several multimilliondollar parks and recreation projects and providing master plan implementation and phasing plans services for public sector clients. Ms. Caborn thoroughly understands the municipal park planning process through her experience as the Parks and Recreation Director for the City of St. Cloud, Florida, where she was actively involved in all aspects of park planning, including extensive public involvement and facilitation. Ms. Caborn also brings experience with Crime Prevention through Environmental Design strategies to this project and will be beneficial should elements such as natural surveillance, territorial reinforcement, and natural access control be required. Landscape architecture. Harry Belton, RLA, has been a practicing landscape architect for 31 years in the south Florida area. During this time, he has been responsible for providing a wide range of landscape architecture services on a variety of projects. This experience includes commercial development of retail space, offices, and hotels; urban renewal projects; government facilities design; transit projects; streetscape designs; and highway landscape, as well as the layout and design of parks and recreational facilities, coastal and waterside parks, landfill conversions, and greenway and trail systems. Building inspection support. Herminio Gonzalez, PE, CBO, has 16 years of experience working in code compliance for Miami-Dade County. He was recently the director of code compliance for the County. He has a vast understanding of the services required to complete inspection services and plan reviews. In addition to his Florida professional engineer’s license, he is also licensed as a building code administrator, plans examiner, and standard inspector, and he holds a master’s degree in construction management. During his 32 years in the construction industry, Mr. Gonzalez has been a developer and general contractor (director of construction and management for a contractor) with experience constructing large vertical and horizontal projects in south Florida. Geotechnical and materials testing. Alex Montenegro, PE, has 22 years of professional experience providing geotechnical engineering and materials testing and inspection services. These services include field inspection, materials testing, and engineering analysis in geotechnical exploration programs for a variety of engineering projects.
