Poll shows Old Movies Ebbing on TVi OS<br />

HOLLYWOOD—Regarded in TV circles as<br />

an authoritative determination of the likes<br />

and dislike of video viewers in Los Angeles,<br />

San Francisco and Salt Lake City, Woodbury<br />

college has made public the eighth in its<br />

series of "Tele-Census" surveys, highlights of<br />

which include:<br />

1. Old movies on TV are slipping.<br />

2. Milton Berle has slipped.<br />

3. Even wrestling is losing its popularity.<br />

4. Everyone loves "I Love Lucy."<br />

5. The public continues to endorse some<br />

form of home subscription television, but<br />

turns thumbs down on theatre telecasts.<br />

6. Nearly half of the TV owners who<br />

have had sets for more than three years<br />

indicate they are watching video less<br />

than during the first months of ownership.<br />

Favorite TV programs, in order, are "I Love<br />

Lucy," sports events, "The Show- of Shows,<br />

"Groucho Marx," "Comedy Hour," movies ani<br />

Red Skelton.<br />

cent were against such televising of majo<br />

football: 64.2 said they would not patroniz:<br />

On the other hand, considerably better tha<br />

50 per cent of TV owners polled indicate<br />

they would pay $1 per program to see majc<br />

sports events and first quality movies on the.j<br />

home receivers.<br />
