<strong>TAV</strong> Airports defines corporate social responsibility as the<br />

voluntary contribution by companies to create a better<br />

society and future, and the Company maintains this<br />

principle with the support of all their stakeholders. The<br />

Company engages not only in economic activities, but<br />

also operates with the awareness of social responsibility<br />

that it has adopted in all its business practices. <strong>TAV</strong><br />

Airports acts with awareness to use the world’s limited<br />

sources very carefully, to not cause environmental<br />

harm, and improve the natural environment wherever<br />

possible. The responsibilities assumed by the Company<br />

and commitments undertaken regarding “sustainable<br />

development” constitute the social responsibility<br />

approach utilized by <strong>TAV</strong> Airports.<br />

Through Social Responsibility projects led by the <strong>TAV</strong><br />

Airports Holding Corporate Communications Coordinator,<br />

<strong>TAV</strong> Airports extends its best efforts every year to<br />

meet its responsibility by overcoming vital problems in<br />

domestic social development in areas such as education.<br />

Fully aware of the impact of culture and arts in social<br />

development, <strong>TAV</strong> Airports invests in all branches of<br />

the arts in Turkey, from literature and music to theatre,<br />

photography and sculpture, by supporting existing<br />

organizations.<br />

<strong>TAV</strong> Esenboga Support for LÖSEV<br />

The proceeds from the New Year’s activity organized<br />

by employees of <strong>TAV</strong> Esenboga, a <strong>TAV</strong> Airports Holding<br />

company, were donated to the Foundation for Children<br />

with Leukemia (LÖSEV).<br />

LÖSEV supports the Pediatric Hematology Departments<br />

in the Eastern and Southeastern regions of Turkey<br />

through the Hospital for Children with Leukemia<br />

(LÖSANTE), the first and only such hospital in Turkey;<br />

thus generating fundamental solutions and providing<br />

vital services.<br />

<strong>TAV</strong> Airports Support for the 19th Ankara International<br />

Film Festival<br />

<strong>TAV</strong> Airports lent sponsorship support to the 19th annual<br />

Ankara International Film Festival in 2008 in order to<br />

raise the international recognition and prominence of<br />

Turkish Cinema, solidifying its position within the film<br />

industry.<br />

Support for the Education Reform Initiative<br />

In an attempt to provide support for education -which<br />

is in dire need of reform in Turkey, as well as around the<br />

world- <strong>TAV</strong> Airports Holding contributes to the Education<br />

Reform Initiative.<br />

Through this contribution, made as part of the<br />

Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility program,<br />

the much needed reforms in Turkey’s education system<br />

will be designed within a framework of broad horizons,<br />

taking into account the experiences of the past and<br />

formulating a vision for the future. Accordingly, the<br />

Company is primarily supporting the Education Reform<br />

Initiative’s strategy of creating a participatory and<br />

creative idea generation process that brings together<br />

bureaucracy, universities, schools and non-governmental<br />

organizations to serve as a catalyst for education reform<br />

policies. In the long term, the Education Reform Initiative<br />

aims to transform this idea generation process into a<br />

reform oversight center that will inform all stakeholders<br />

about the field of education.<br />

Second World War Memories Exhibit at Esenboğa Airport<br />

<strong>TAV</strong> Airports Holding airport operating company, <strong>TAV</strong><br />

Esenboga, hosted an exhibition of unforgettable<br />

moments of the Second World War, presented by the<br />

Ankara Model Society at Ankara Esenboğa Airport.<br />

At the Model Exhibit, turning points of the Second World<br />

War, including the occupation of Hungary, Stalingrad,<br />

the Normandy Invasion and the first occupation of the<br />

Soviet Union, were recreated with model military aircraft,<br />

land vehicles and vessels, all identical to the originals.<br />

In appreciation of <strong>TAV</strong> Airports Holding’s support for<br />

the arts, Ankara Model Society Members presented a<br />

souvenir model to Esenboğa Airport as a gift on the last<br />

day of the exhibit.
