Being the leader and pioneer in airport operations in<br />

Turkey, <strong>TAV</strong> Airports’ human capital strategy is based<br />

upon a corporate learning approach according to which<br />

the Company has adopted the primary strategy of<br />

institutionalizing its knowledge, experience and knowhow,<br />

at every level of the Company. Corporate learning<br />

initiatives are managed and directed by <strong>TAV</strong> Academy,<br />

the corporate development center of <strong>TAV</strong> Airports. The<br />

objective of <strong>TAV</strong> Academy is to structure, develop, and<br />

increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the corporate<br />

learning processes in order to help <strong>TAV</strong> Airports Holding<br />

and its subsidiaries accomplish their strategic goals.<br />

<strong>TAV</strong> Academy carries out projects designed specifically<br />

for the aviation sector, development programs and<br />

trainings designed in cooperation with international<br />

organizations, academic cooperation with universities,<br />

personalized leadership and career development<br />

programs for successful executives and young high<br />

potential managers, training programs geared towards<br />

developing corporate culture and core competencies.<br />

Through these efforts, <strong>TAV</strong> Academy aims to create<br />

a corporate and actionable learning environment<br />

that encourages and facilitates <strong>TAV</strong> employees’<br />

self development as well as their professional and<br />

leadership development. The know-how and experience<br />

disseminated by <strong>TAV</strong> Academy are put into action with<br />

the projects and new practices implemented throughout<br />

the Company, support’ng transformation of <strong>TAV</strong>’s high<br />

performance into its corporate culture.<br />

<strong>TAV</strong> Academy designed and launched the “Airport<br />

Operation Management Trainee Development Program”<br />

in 2008 in order to ensure the continuing leadership<br />

in airport operations and, to manage the business<br />

processes effectively, and internalize the corporate<br />

know-how by the Company. The purpose of this program<br />

was to give participants theoretical and practical<br />

knowledge geared towards professional and technical<br />

expertise, to ensure the internalization of this knowledge<br />

via implementation opportunities, and to support<br />

the professional development of the participants via<br />

managerial and leadership applications.<br />

A book entitled “Introduction to Airport Operations” was<br />

published jointly by <strong>TAV</strong> Academy and Kocaeli University<br />

Civil Aviation College faculty members, combining the<br />

knowledge, experience and know-how of <strong>TAV</strong> Airports<br />

with academic information. Being the first book of<br />

its kind in Turkey, the Book is used as a textbook at<br />

the University and <strong>TAV</strong> Academy programs. The book<br />

constitutes an example of well structured cooperation<br />

between the private sector and the academic world in the<br />

area of airport operations and of the Company’s strong<br />

support for mutual knowledge sharing and learning<br />

efforts.<br />

As another example of cooperation between the private<br />

sector and the academic world, <strong>TAV</strong> Academy instructed<br />

courses and conducted seminars on sector-related and<br />

managerial topics to airport operations students at<br />

İstanbul Technical University, Kocaeli University Civil<br />

Aviation College and Kapadokya Vocational High School.
