• developing travel plans to encourage more people to catch the train, bus or ferry, walk, cycle, rideshare,<br />
or work from home<br />
• implementing regional cycling and walking strategies<br />
• promoting and developing the Walking School Bus programme<br />
• coordinating regional road safety activities<br />
• providing information about public transport services (including timetables at stops and rail stations)<br />
• planning improvements and developments to the local roading network<br />
• developing the Regional Land <strong>Transport</strong> Programme for funding of all land transport projects in the<br />
<strong>Auckland</strong> region<br />
• planning and prioritising the ongoing development of the region’s land transport system through the<br />
<strong>Auckland</strong> <strong>Transport</strong> Plan<br />
• ensuring that the development and growth of transport activities are integrated with the land<br />
use system.<br />
<strong>ARTA</strong>’s performance is monitored by the ARC through:<br />
• providing an annual Statement of Intent<br />
• providing half-yearly and annual reports against both the ARLTS and the Statement of Intent<br />
• performance monitoring.<br />
