Description<br />
Charged with CDM process. Final process <strong>of</strong> international approval<br />
(acceptance to register) <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> CDM projects <strong>and</strong> involved methodologies. At<br />
present 8 Mexican projects are in <strong>the</strong> CDM/EB pipeline.<br />
UNIDO has developed a large number <strong>of</strong> projects at Mexico to assist <strong>the</strong><br />
<strong>development</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> national industry. Created a network <strong>of</strong> National Centers<br />
<strong>for</strong> Cleaner Production, including <strong>the</strong> Mexican CMPL. UNIDO is at present<br />
developing a project that focuses on assisting potential CDM recipient<br />
countries to build <strong>the</strong> capacities required <strong>for</strong> launching CDM programs <strong>and</strong><br />
projects in <strong>the</strong> industrial <strong>and</strong> energy sector. The activities are designed to<br />
cover all <strong>the</strong> stages <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> CDM project cycle, through partnerships with<br />
Austrian business <strong>and</strong> industry. The present study <strong>for</strong>ms part <strong>of</strong> this UNIDO-<br />
Austria project. Very recently (July 2005) UNIDO operates a Promotion <strong>of</strong><br />
Investment <strong>and</strong> Technology Program (PROPIT), <strong>the</strong> first in <strong>the</strong> Latin<br />
American region <strong>and</strong> whose activities are potentially related to CDM.<br />
