In a simplified version additionality means that the emission abatement to be obtained by the project implementation would have not occurred in the absence of the CDM project activities. The CDM –EB has released 105 a “Tool for the demonstration and assessment of additionality”. A similar diagram has been published 106 by the Mexican DNA, to help the national proponents to prove the additionality of a project. In Annex I-H of this study, a simplified version of the Tool is presented, giving a concise explanation of each of the steps involved in the demonstration of the additionality of the activities of the project proposal. Next figure depicts the proofs, proposed by the CDM-EB, to demonstrate additionality.
