DNA documentation requirements<br />

The documentation requirements are:<br />

Requirements <strong>for</strong> optional Letters <strong>of</strong> No-Objection 99<br />

• Documents showing <strong>the</strong> legally recognized existence <strong>and</strong> address <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> requesting party.<br />

• Brief description <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Project proposal using <strong>the</strong> Protocol Carbon Fund provided template<br />

<strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> Project Idea Note (PIN).<br />

A Project Idea Note is not a requirement <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> CDM process, but is an inexpensive way to obtain<br />

national authorities, o<strong>the</strong>r stakeholders <strong>and</strong> market appreciation, previously to engaging in <strong>the</strong> more<br />

complex entire CDM process.<br />

For a purpose <strong>of</strong> a previous evaluation, a PIN generally consists <strong>of</strong> a few pages with indicative<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation on:<br />

• The Proponent data <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Investors data.<br />

• Description, type <strong>and</strong> dimension <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> proposed project<br />

• Project location<br />

• Expected amount <strong>of</strong> greenhouse gas reductions;<br />

• Anticipated crediting lifetime;<br />

• Expected CERs price, US$/ton CO 2 eq. reduced or capture.<br />

• Financial structure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> project, <strong>and</strong><br />

• Project expected socioeconomic <strong>and</strong> environmental effects <strong>and</strong> benefits.<br />

Documents required by <strong>the</strong> Mexican DNA 100 <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> issuance <strong>of</strong> a Letter <strong>of</strong> Approval (Official<br />

Endorsement Letter)<br />

• Documentation showing <strong>the</strong> legally recognized existence <strong>and</strong> address <strong>of</strong> requesting party.<br />

• The Project Design Document (PDD), in <strong>the</strong> <strong>for</strong>mat required by <strong>the</strong> Executive Board <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

CDM.<br />

• A document, in free <strong>for</strong>mat, with a description <strong>of</strong> how <strong>the</strong> project will contribute to<br />

sustainable <strong>development</strong> in Mexico. (See below).<br />

• Approved Environmental Impact Assessment, if required by Mexican Law due to <strong>the</strong><br />

characteristics <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> project.<br />

• A written commitment to deliver to <strong>the</strong> Mexican DNA an annual report on <strong>the</strong> results <strong>of</strong><br />

monitoring, certification, issuance <strong>and</strong> sale <strong>of</strong> CERs.<br />
