DNA documentation requirements
The documentation requirements are:
Requirements for optional Letters of No-Objection 99
• Documents showing the legally recognized existence and address of the requesting party.
• Brief description of the Project proposal using the Protocol Carbon Fund provided template
for the Project Idea Note (PIN).
A Project Idea Note is not a requirement of the CDM process, but is an inexpensive way to obtain
national authorities, other stakeholders and market appreciation, previously to engaging in the more
complex entire CDM process.
For a purpose of a previous evaluation, a PIN generally consists of a few pages with indicative
information on:
• The Proponent data and the Investors data.
• Description, type and dimension of the proposed project
• Project location
• Expected amount of greenhouse gas reductions;
• Anticipated crediting lifetime;
• Expected CERs price, US$/ton CO 2 eq. reduced or capture.
• Financial structure of the project, and
• Project expected socioeconomic and environmental effects and benefits.
Documents required by the Mexican DNA 100 for the issuance of a Letter of Approval (Official
Endorsement Letter)
• Documentation showing the legally recognized existence and address of requesting party.
• The Project Design Document (PDD), in the format required by the Executive Board of the
CDM.
• A document, in free format, with a description of how the project will contribute to
sustainable development in Mexico. (See below).
• Approved Environmental Impact Assessment, if required by Mexican Law due to the
characteristics of the project.
• A written commitment to deliver to the Mexican DNA an annual report on the results of
monitoring, certification, issuance and sale of CERs.
