D.1. BASICS ABOUT SCANNING STRATEGIES EMPLOYED IN DWR OPERATION
With the using of radar to find a target of interest (e.g., a cloud), three pieces of information are
needed:
(1) Azimuth angle (direction relative to north)
(2) Distance to the target of interest
(3) Elevation angle (angle above the ground)
