Grassland on sandy hummocky plains At these sites the landscape is slightly undulating with sandy hummocks where the sand is deep. The three species of Stipagrostis namely S. brevifolia, S. obtusa and S. ciliata are prominent, while the shrubby Rhigozum trichotomum is prominent on the hummocks or disturbed areas.

The open, sparse grassland is dominated by Stipagrostis brevifolia and S. ciliata.
