Azonal vegetation The azonal vegetation includes the vegetation of pans and washes, which are the “wetlands” and drainage lines of the site. 5.1 Pans The pans are often dry, but they do have water after rains during the rainy season (Figure 20). The central parts of the pans are normally bare, without vegetation. Vegetation is restricted to pan edges, and mostly corresponds to the surrounding Bushmanland Arid Grassland or Bushmanland Sandy Grassland, with a few additional species.
