<strong>KCUMB</strong> launches the public phase <strong>of</strong> its second capital campaign, One Vision.<br />

2007<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong> launches a dual-degree program <strong>of</strong>fering students the opportunity to earn a<br />

doctor <strong>of</strong> osteopathic medicine and a master <strong>of</strong> arts in bioethics.<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong> implements an aggressive quality enhancement program to measure and<br />

evaluate all aspects <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>.<br />

The <strong>University</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficially opens Weaver Auditorium, a 1,500-seat auditorium named in<br />

honor <strong>of</strong> Jack T. Weaver, D.O., Mary Weaver, Howard D. Weaver, D.O., and Debra S.<br />

Albers, D.O.<br />

The Kesselheim Center for Clinical Competence is named in honor <strong>of</strong> Howard I.<br />

Kesselheim, D.O., and his wife, Tina S. Kesselheim.<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong> announces a spacious 16,000-square-foot library to be built next to Weaver<br />

Auditorium and in honor <strong>of</strong> Vincent F. D’Angelo, D.O., and his wife, Cleo V. D’Angelo.<br />

2008<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong> embarked on a new quality enhancement program and received its first site visit<br />

from examiners for the prestigious Missouri Quality Award.<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficially opened its new primary care <strong>of</strong>fice, <strong>KCUMB</strong> Physician Associates, on<br />

the campus <strong>of</strong> St. Joseph’s Medical Center in <strong>Kansas</strong> <strong>City</strong>, Mo.<br />

Score 1 for Health, sponsored by <strong>KCUMB</strong> and the Deron Cherry Foundation, published<br />

its inaugural Community Report, which served as a benchmark publication regarding the<br />

health <strong>of</strong> <strong>Kansas</strong> <strong>City</strong>’s children.<br />

The <strong>University</strong> introduced Darin L. Haug, D.O., as the new dean <strong>of</strong> the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

Osteopathic Medicine.<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong>’s Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees <strong>of</strong>ficially renamed the <strong>University</strong>’s historic administration<br />

building the Karen L. Pletz, J.D., Administration Building, in honor <strong>of</strong> President Pletz’s<br />

13 years <strong>of</strong> leading significant and positive change at <strong>KCUMB</strong>.<br />
