satisfactory academic progress will be required to withdraw from the M.B.A. portion <strong>of</strong><br />

the program.<br />

The curriculum is divided into three segments and corresponds to the three time<br />

phases <strong>of</strong> the M.B.A. program. One-third <strong>of</strong> the total tuition is allocated to each phase <strong>of</strong><br />

program. Tuition is due and payable before the initiation <strong>of</strong> each segment.<br />

The <strong>of</strong>ficial start dates for each segment will be:<br />

Segment 1 June 1 for first-year students<br />

Segment 2 June 1 for second-year students<br />

Segment 3 September 1 for third-year students<br />

The tuition refund and/or tuition discount, whichever is applicable, shall be prorated<br />

as follows:<br />

• A 50 percent refund will be allowed if a student withdraws prior to the<br />

conclusion <strong>of</strong> the second week <strong>of</strong> instruction <strong>of</strong> a segment. No refunds are<br />

awarded following the second week <strong>of</strong> instruction in any segment.<br />

• Students are charged for only segments in which they enroll.<br />

Enrollment/completion <strong>of</strong> one segment does not require enrollment and<br />

payment <strong>of</strong> subsequent segments. Students are not charged for segments<br />

<strong>of</strong>fered in the future following withdrawal from the program.<br />

• No tuition refund will be allowed for any completed segment following<br />

withdrawal or dismissal from the program.<br />

• No tuition refund will be allowed for any student who is dismissed from the<br />

program for any reason including academic, personal or behavioral situations.<br />

• A request for tuition refund must be made in writing to the <strong>KCUMB</strong> Finance<br />

Office, and be accompanied by a dated withdrawal letter from the program<br />

indicating acknowledgement by both the <strong>KCUMB</strong> Vice President for Student<br />

Affairs and the Rockhurst M.B.A. Program Director.<br />

Student Financial Aid<br />

Education is very expensive. A student may be forced to live at a very modest level<br />

while completing their education to minimize their expenses to match their financial aid.<br />

The primary obligation for financing a student’s education lies with the student and the<br />

student’s family. Need-based financial assistance is available, but is highly competitive.<br />

The federal and private agencies, which make funds available for borrowing, do so with<br />

the understanding that a student must sacrifice in order to achieve his/her educational<br />

goals.<br />

Upon acceptance to <strong>KCUMB</strong>, a student who needs financial assistance must complete<br />

a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). An application can be made online at<br />

www.fafsa.ed.gov. This information allows the Financial Aid <strong>of</strong>fice staff to determine the<br />

degree and amount <strong>of</strong> need-based financial assistance, loan amounts and scholarship<br />

awards for which a student is eligible.<br />

Financial aid, as awarded or borrowed under federal or private programs, cannot<br />

exceed the <strong>KCUMB</strong> standardized budget and must be used to <strong>of</strong>fset the cost <strong>of</strong> the<br />
