<strong>KCUMB</strong> students enrolled in the dual <strong>KCUMB</strong>-Rockhurst M.B.A. program must<br />

maintain satisfactory academic progress in the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Osteopathic Medicine program<br />

to continue in the M.B.A. portion <strong>of</strong> the program. Students failing to maintain<br />

satisfactory academic progress will be required to withdraw from the M.B.A. portion <strong>of</strong><br />

D.O./Master <strong>of</strong> Arts in Bioethics<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong>’s 2007 launch <strong>of</strong> the region’s first graduate-level program in bioethics <strong>of</strong>fers<br />

<strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Osteopathic Medicine students the opportunity to concurrently earn a master<br />

<strong>of</strong> arts in bioethics, which explores moral values as they relate to research and the<br />

practice <strong>of</strong> medicine.<br />

Students must complete 30 semester hours <strong>of</strong> course work, culminating with a threehour<br />

capstone project. Additional information may be found in the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong><br />

Biosciences section <strong>of</strong> this catalog, beginning on Page 121.<br />

Accreditation<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong> is a private university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is<br />

a member <strong>of</strong> the North Central Association <strong>of</strong> <strong>College</strong>s and Schools and recognized by<br />

the Coordinating Board <strong>of</strong> Higher Education for the Missouri Department <strong>of</strong> Higher<br />

Education.<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong> is also accredited by the American Osteopathic Association Commission on<br />

Osteopathic <strong>College</strong> Accreditation. The AOA is the <strong>of</strong>ficial accrediting agency for<br />

osteopathic medicine approved by the United States Department <strong>of</strong> Education and by the<br />

Council <strong>of</strong> Post-Secondary Accreditation.<br />
