future students <strong>of</strong> the <strong>University</strong>, and to establish additional fees or charges for special<br />

services whenever, in their opinion, such action is deemed advisable.<br />

No part <strong>of</strong> the tuition fee shall be refunded to students who withdraw for any reason<br />

after the tenth week from the first day <strong>of</strong> the academic schedule for first, second, third or<br />

fourth year.<br />

A request for a tuition fee refund requires written notification to the Business Office,<br />

and must be received before the close <strong>of</strong> business during the week in which the refund is<br />

requested. The request for a tuition fee refund requires prior written notification <strong>of</strong><br />

withdrawal from the <strong>University</strong>. Students who voluntarily withdraw from the <strong>University</strong><br />

may be entitled to a refund. Students who are dismissed or suspended are not entitled to<br />

tuition refunds.<br />

The tuition refund and/or tuition discount, whichever is applicable, shall be prorated<br />

as follows: 75 percent during the first week; 50 percent during the second week; and 25<br />

percent during the third week through the tenth week. The check will be mailed to the<br />

student from the Business Office approximately two weeks from the date <strong>of</strong> receipt <strong>of</strong> the<br />

written request and notification <strong>of</strong> withdrawal from the <strong>University</strong>.<br />

Tuition and Fees Refund Policy – Student Financial Aid Recipients<br />

Students receiving financial aid funds are subject to having these funds returned as<br />

required by federal, state and/or private aid program policies. This means a student who<br />

leaves school for any reason prior to completing 60 percent <strong>of</strong> the period <strong>of</strong> enrollment<br />

will have all or a portion <strong>of</strong> their financial aid funds returned to the appropriate aid<br />

program(s). Federal regulation 34 CFR 668.22 (Return <strong>of</strong> Title IV Funds) requires the<br />

school to calculate the percentage <strong>of</strong> the student’s attendance; then calculate the<br />

student’s “unearned” portion <strong>of</strong> the federal funds they have received. The “unearned”<br />

funds paid to the school must be returned to the lender within 30 days <strong>of</strong> the student’s<br />

date <strong>of</strong> withdrawal. The student will then be responsible for the payment <strong>of</strong> the<br />

remaining tuition balance due per the <strong>KCUMB</strong> refund policy. The student will be notified<br />

<strong>of</strong> these amounts at the time <strong>of</strong> their checkout from the <strong>University</strong>.<br />

Payment and Tuition Refund Policy Related to the Master <strong>of</strong><br />

Business Administration in Healthcare Leadership Program<br />

Students enrolled in the M.B.A. program receive invoices and statements from<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong>. Financial aid and loan arrangements are also handled by <strong>KCUMB</strong>. Payments for<br />

tuition are submitted to <strong>KCUMB</strong> and are credited separately from <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Osteopathic<br />

Medicine accounts.<br />

Rockhurst <strong>University</strong> manages the registration, curriculum content, faculty and<br />

graduation requirement components <strong>of</strong> the program. Rockhurst <strong>University</strong> awards the<br />

M.B.A. degree.<br />

<strong>KCUMB</strong> students enrolled in the dual <strong>KCUMB</strong>-Rockhurst M.B.A. program must<br />

maintain satisfactory academic progress in the <strong>College</strong> <strong>of</strong> Osteopathic Medicine program<br />

to continue in the M.B.A. portion <strong>of</strong> the program. Students failing to maintain<br />
