l'roIn high school there and then enrolled in Manhattan
(:olkgc. Aftcr finishing his s('cond year at Manhattan,
he decided that he could receive a more practical education
at Babson Institute, than in a regular college taking
lib(~ ral arts courses.
Darts is interest('d in Production Manag(,Inent. His
faLiH'T is an executiv(' of a manufacturing company
located in ~ew York. He has, therefore, concentrated his
efforts in the courses associated with this industrial field.
PRACTICAL TRAINING
While ,it Babson Institute, Darts took the general t\\Oyear
course embracing the three fields '01' Production,
Distribution, and Finance, but since he plans on entering
tIl e Produc tion phase o f business, he sllo\vcd real ability
in the division o r Production Management. This course
explain.~ the important fundamentals of getting industrial
activities accomplished efllciently. Even in this day of
enlightened factory management, a great many plants
still 10110\-\ the old-I~tshioned, slipshod practice or enterin,!!;
an ordn in tl)(' shop and trusting to luck that it will
come through. The aim oC the Production Management
course is to deYC'lop vvays and means or bringing togethe r
the materials, mcn, and machinery that arc ncedl'd for

Darts' statistical survey. This covered a recent ten-year

Darts is the industrial-minded type. He has a great
willingness tu work, especially in the subjects that hold
the most interest for him. Of' a quiet, yet pleasing personality,
