Hill has a background based entirely upon New England.
His parents \·vere New Englanders and he was
brought up and educatf'd in that section of the country.
While at Bowdoin Col/eg(' he- took an active part in the
various activities of student life-. He was a leader in
athletics and this did much to develop in him admirable
character and personality traits. He made an excellent
record in the athletic fteld by winning the Intf'rcollegiate
Men's Doubks championship. With all his extracurricular
activities at Bowdoin, he still maintaincd a good
scholastic record. Since his father is a lawyer and thc
family home naturally possesses a high intellectual
standard, Hill has received an excellent educational
backgrou nd.

and travel opportunities have given him a complete
