BACKGROCND
Stewart, \.vhose father is presidt'nt of the Rieck Mc
Junkin Dairy Company, has accumulated considerable
business information about this particular industry.
Coming from a family whose busine-ss is dairying, and
having had contact with the industry himst'lf, he has
naturally focused his interests on that field. Many men
who arc planni·ng to go into business are faced, at an
carly date in their preparations, with the- indecision as to
just what branch of the industry they arc best suited.
Such has been the case with Mr. Stewart.
PRACTICAL TRAI~INC
When his interests we-re developing in the dairy business,
Stewart considered himself best filled for entrance
into the markf'ting and selling functions of" the industry.
Hf' workf'd on the loading platform of his htther's plan t,
and also performed routine work in the ofTice. He had
littk knowledge of marketing and salesmanship until
he obtained a job as an automobile salesman. It was
then that he found that selling was not his forle. He came
to Babson Institutf' and while studying Production,
Finance, and Distribution he clarified tilt' indecision in
his mind. He soon saw that the I·unctions of· financial
and administrative work were- best suited to him. Hf'
plans eventually to establish a dairy business for himsel f,
but plans a busine-ss intnim beforehand in which to
gam even mort' experi('nce in production a nd administration.
THE BLSl~ESS MAN
The laculty and students have, in the business course
pursued by Stewart, found him to have those qualities
desired in an administrator. He has d eveloped a mature
judgment and considerable self-reliance. He is conscientious
and independent in his business negotiationsqualities
sought by present-day management. Stewart is
the type of young .man many business organizations are
today seeking.
