After graduation rrom the Lewis and Clark High
School in Spokane, Washington, :\'ordstrom attended
the Cniversity or Michigan for thrce years' training in
Naval Architecture. At Michigan, he took part in many
of the extracurricular activitif's. This educational background
prior to his Babson Institute training has made
him tolerant, resourceful, and conscientious. .'\fter
employment of a few years in thl' Shipbuilding Industry,
he soon' became aware that additional business (~ducation
was n'ecessary. It was then, September, 1940. that he
enrolled at Babson I nsti tu te .
PRACTICAL TRAININ(;
Nordstrom has been in the employ of' the Nnvport
Ncws Shipyard. Thcre, he underwent a two years'
apprenticeship training. This work consisted of actual
naval architl'ctural dutil'S combined with a training in
the Mold Lift and Fitting D
