Malont"s lift' has been spent in the environment of the<br />
steel industry. His home is located in the heart of the<br />
industry. He has had many opportunities to observe the<br />
various functions of the steel plants in action. He has<br />
talked with a great many of the men who are engaged in<br />
steel work, men in all branches of the industry. As a<br />
consequence of all these observations and contacts, he<br />
has developed a considerable interest in this field.<br />
H e has also been exposed to the intricacies of the building<br />
business as well as having had close acquaintance<br />
with the steel industry.<br />
PRACTICAL TR.\I~ING<br />
In tht' past (""0 years, Malone has been occupied<br />
with the application of general business principles to his<br />
particular intert'sts. He has studied plant construction<br />
and organization, together with many of th~ oth(~ r implications<br />
of factory management. With reference' (0 his<br />
desire to investigatt' the field of outdoor advertising and<br />
the selling of advertising, he has analyze'd the more general<br />
markets of the country and has It'arncd some of the<br />
important techniques of cultivating these marke"ts. Entailed<br />

is little doubt that in the' future, in whatever business he<br />

Institute be able to eliminate a great deal of wasteful<br />
trial and error work.<br />
