ANNEXURE III<br />

Item No. :- Providing cement based water pro<strong>of</strong>ing treatment to terrace (Indian water pro<strong>of</strong>ing or a like) with brick bats laid in required slope to drain<br />

the water for any span after cleaning the base surface. Applying a coat <strong>of</strong> cement slurry admixed with approved water pro<strong>of</strong>ing compound and<br />

laying the bricks bats on bottom layer in C.M. 1:5 admixed with approved water pro<strong>of</strong>ing compound, filling upto half depth <strong>of</strong> brick bats, curing<br />

this layer for 3 days, applying cement slurry over this layer jointing <strong>of</strong> bricks bats with C.M. 1:3 admixed with approved water pro<strong>of</strong>ing<br />

compound and finally top finishing with average 20 mm thick layers <strong>of</strong> same mortar added with jute fibre at 1 Kg. per bag including finishing<br />

the surface smooth with cement slurry admixed with approved water pro<strong>of</strong>ing compound. Marking finished surface with false squares <strong>of</strong><br />

300mm x 300 mm marking the junctions at the parapet rounded and tapered towards top for required height, with drip mould at the junction <strong>of</strong><br />

plaster and parapet and curing and covering 10 years guarantee on court fee stamp paper <strong>of</strong> Rs. 100/- including bonding test etc. complete.<br />

GENERAL :- The item pertains to the provision and laying waterpro<strong>of</strong> layer on terrace and other floor including W/C and bath.<br />

MATERIALS:- i) The water pro<strong>of</strong>ing compound shall confirm to relevant IS 2645-1964 with its latest edition, especially as regard to permability test.<br />

ii) Brick Bat Coba -The bricks shall confirm to standard specification A-9. The brick bats shall be from 70 mm to 100 mm.<br />

iii) Fine Aggregate - Shall confirm to standard specification A-6.<br />

iv) Cement - Cement shall confirm to IS 269-1967 and all test shall be carried out as specified.<br />

Item:- Preparing existing surface. All material on the existing surface slab/terrace/Raft shall be removed and surface shall be cleaned to receive the<br />

treatment. All surfaces shall be cleaned.<br />

INJECTION:-The new water pro<strong>of</strong>ing treatment shall be started by injecting cement slurry with water cement ratio as 40 to 45 with approved water pro<strong>of</strong>ing<br />

compound at the rate <strong>of</strong> 2% by weight <strong>of</strong> cement. The holes <strong>of</strong> injection shall be fixed in such a staggered pattern that 11 inherent holes,<br />

cavities voids, honey combing etc. shall be sealed properly and whole structure to be treated shall be consistent, homogeneous, and<br />

resistant to water leakages, seepage, dampness and moisture etc. The drainage plan taking into consideration the existing water spouts<br />

shall be prepared and got approved. The slab shall then be overlayed with brick bat coba to single course and in compact manner in<br />

cement mortar 1:5 using manufacture specifications or as directed by Engineer In-charge. The necessary gradient for easy flow to drain<br />

<strong>of</strong>f water shall be maintained meticulously through the existing rain water drainage system. The treatment shall be continued along inner<br />

side <strong>of</strong> the parapets <strong>of</strong> ever adjoining walls upto the height <strong>of</strong> 30 cm. (or as directed) and corners shall be rounded <strong>of</strong>f properly. Finally<br />

the top surface shall be covered with joint less water pro<strong>of</strong>ing plaster in cement mortar 1:3 <strong>of</strong> 12 to 18 mm average thickness, finished<br />

smooth with travel in cement colour and marked into 30 cm. false square, if so directed. The average thickness <strong>of</strong> the complete treatment<br />

shall not be less than 112 mm and shall be rendered hard and tough to with stand the weathering and normal domestic use. The<br />

finished terrace shall be watered for a period <strong>of</strong> not less than ten days. All test for leakages shall be carried out without any extra cost.<br />

The leakages if any shall be rectified forth with. The work shall not be accepted unless the rectifications work, if required, in carried out<br />

satisfactorily and results <strong>of</strong> ponding test are satisfactory<br />
