Subsequent Upgrades<br />
As the <strong>parking</strong> <strong>inform<strong>at</strong>ion</strong> is tested and users be<strong>com</strong>e more familiar with it, the<br />
<strong>inform<strong>at</strong>ion</strong> can be integr<strong>at</strong>ed into other <strong>WMATA</strong> web applic<strong>at</strong>ions.<br />
• Page-specific <strong>inform<strong>at</strong>ion</strong>: As web pages are upd<strong>at</strong>ed, the links to the pop-up<br />
window can be replaced with live feed <strong>of</strong> <strong>parking</strong> availability <strong>inform<strong>at</strong>ion</strong>. This will<br />
save users’ <strong>time</strong> by elimin<strong>at</strong>ing the need to click through for <strong>inform<strong>at</strong>ion</strong>.<br />
• User-specific <strong>inform<strong>at</strong>ion</strong>: For SmarTrip card users with registered cards, <strong>parking</strong><br />
<strong>inform<strong>at</strong>ion</strong> can be included in a “My St<strong>at</strong>ion” fe<strong>at</strong>ure incorpor<strong>at</strong>ed into future<br />
upd<strong>at</strong>es <strong>of</strong> the <strong>WMATA</strong> web site. For non-registered users, or for users who<br />
prefer to remain anonymous, st<strong>at</strong>ion preferences can be retained by using web<br />
cookies. When a customer’s home address is known, the system can<br />
autom<strong>at</strong>ically provide links to <strong>inform<strong>at</strong>ion</strong> about nearby bus routes, along with<br />
<strong>inform<strong>at</strong>ion</strong> on other non-motorized access to Metro st<strong>at</strong>ion.<br />
