Chapter 6: PILOT PROJECT CONCEPT<br />

The preferred concept described in Task 3D includes a mix <strong>of</strong> zonal and space-level<br />

detection system. The concept requires th<strong>at</strong> special <strong>parking</strong> spaces (i.e., reserved,<br />

ADA, and potential carpool) be individually counted. The rest <strong>of</strong> the facility can be<br />

divided into three zones: the north lot, the structure, and the south lot. Within these<br />

zones, cars will be counted as they enter and exit the zone, but not <strong>at</strong> the individual<br />

spaces. Figure 6-3 shows the defined zones and the access and egress points between<br />

those zones.<br />
