Founders Brewing Co. - #45
Grand Rapids, MI | www.foundersbrewing.com
Founded in 1997, Founders Brewing Company has grown around this simple philosophy: “We don’t brew beer for the
masses. Instead, our beers are crafted for a chosen few, a small cadre of renegades and rebels who enjoy a beer that
pushes the limits of what is commonly accepted as taste. In short, we make beer for people like us.” In 2010, Ratebeer.
com ranked Founders as the 4th best brewery in the world, and the brewery has several beers in the Top Beers on Planet
Earth list on Beeradvocate.com. Founders was the second fastest growing brewery in the U.S. in 2009, and, two weeks
ago, they won two medals at the 2010 Great American Beer Festival.
Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale [ 8.3 % ABV ]
Founders flagship beer. Dirty Bastard is an absolute beautiful beer to
behold. Dark ruby in color and brewed with ten varieties of imported
malts this beer continuously lives up to its reputation as a bold and
powerful ale. Dirty Bastard is complex in the finish with hints of
smoke and peat paired with a malty richness, finalized with a good bit
of hop attitude. This beer “ain’t fer the wee lads”
Cerise [ 6.5 % ABV | 15 IBU’s ]
Using only fresh Michigan tart cherries this beauty tantalizes with
intense flavors combined with a no hesitation malt bill. Adding fresh
cherries at five different stages of fermentation achieves the ultimate
balance between tartness and sweetness.
Breakfast Stout [ 8.3 % ABV ]
You’ve got to love coffee to truly appreciate this phenomenal brew.
Brewed with an abundance of flaked oats, bitter and sweetened
imported chocolates, Sumatra and Kona coffee. We’re actually not
sure if this is some type of coffee cake or a beer. Either way you
can drink this ale with a fork. Breakfast Stout has an intense fresh
roasted coffee nose topped with a cinnamon colored frothy head that
seems to never fade and makes you wish breakfast could last forever.
