Summit Brewing Company was founded by Mark Stutrud in 1986 with one goal: To bring back the remarkable craft<br />
beers once brewed throughout the Upper Midwest. Summit beer quickly grew into a local favorite, placing Summit<br />
Brewing Company well ahead of a trend of craft brewing that would eventually sweep the nation. To keep up with demand,<br />
the brewery had to grow. In 1993 alone, Summit Brewing Company tripled in size. Mark and his dedicated staff<br />
were working diligently to quench the thirst of an ever-widening fan base, leading them in 1998 to build the first new<br />
brewery <strong>Minnesota</strong> had seen in over 75 years.<br />

Kölsch<br />
The first brew in our new Unchained Series. Brewer Mike Miziorko<br />
took the lead on this style, bringing in all imported ingredients from<br />
the Cologne region in Germany. This German Ale features a traditional<br />
top fermenting KÖlsch yeast, German Pilsener, KÖlsch and Cara malts,<br />
and is single hopped with the highly prized Hallertau Mittlelfruh hop.<br />
This beer will only be around for a short time, so enjoy it while you can!<br />

Oktoberfest [ 7.4% ABV ]<br />
A true Marzen style Oktoberfest—rich, malty, and smooth with a<br />
higher alcohol kick.<br />

Oatmeal Stout [ 4.9% ABV ]<br />
Our Stout is a gem in the Summit family. A nitrogen pushed ale, with a<br />
thick creamy head. Hints of chocolate, coffee, and caramel.<br />
□□<br />
Horizon Red Ale - Cask<br />
The newest full time member of the Summit family of beers, served<br />
in the traditional English cask style. Expect this special firkin of the<br />
Horizon to have not only the four main hops it is originally brewed<br />
with (Horizon, Amarillo, Cascade, and Summit), but also a few ‘extra’<br />
for good measure. Ask Damian, he’ll tell you all about it!<br />

India Pale Ale<br />
Our expertly crafted British IPA is the perfect ale to be served from<br />
a cask. The lower carbonation level of cask beer, allows the hops and<br />
malts to shine through. Expect that our brewer Damian added a little<br />
something “extra” to this firkin!<br />
