Altbier [ 4.8% ABV ]<br />

This German lagered ale finds its roots in the northern confines of the<br />

country, particularly in the city of Düsseldorf. A richly copper colored<br />

beer, with a good malt presence, and discernible hop character. The<br />

word “alt” means “old” in German, referring to the method in which<br />

the beer is made. Before the discovery and isolation of yeast strains,<br />

German brewers uniquely fermented and cellared their beers at cold<br />

temperatures. The finished product if affected with less fruity smells<br />

and flavors, and a simple, crisp dry finish. The hops, Perle (pronounced<br />

Pearl) and yeast used in this recipe are decisively German. Much like<br />

a mixture of an ESB and Oktoberfest.<br />

Northern Lights Ale [ 4.3% ABV ]<br />

“Ale Brewed With Herbs”. The South Shore Brewery continues it’s<br />

dedication to innovative and progressive beer styles. As a cream<br />

ale it combines the features of a lager ( crisp and smooth) with the<br />

best of an ale (fruity and complex) into one beer. We’ve also added<br />

5 % oatmeal and 16% white wheat for a round, smooth flavor and<br />

mouthfeel. There is a very slight hop presence. Additionally, we’ve<br />

introduced a blend of herbs into the finished product which enlivens<br />

your senses with a unique refreshing taste.<br />

□ □ “Wet Hopped”Bitter Blonde [ 6.6% ABV ]<br />

An uniquely hopped ale which could be regarded as a very pale ESB.<br />

This beer features fresh hand picked ( by us no less) Wisconsin grown<br />

Cascade hops. Hence the term “wet hops”. The more traditional<br />

forms are dried. True to it’s goal of being the ultimate judge of the<br />

ingredients that become South Shore beers, the hops were hand<br />

picked by brewery personnel and brewed with within 48 hours of<br />

picking. The South Shore Brewery takes yet another step towards<br />

it’s goal of exclusive use of regional and locally grown ingredients.<br />

Married with a beer that was formulated from a majority of locally<br />

grown barley, this beer is truly a window into the future. Conditioned<br />

and served via nitrogen a silky, sexy and luscious beer is the only<br />

way to describe how it looks and tastesyour senses with a unique<br />

refreshing taste.<br />
