5.2.3. REMOVING THE COOLANT THERMAL<br />
SWITCH<br />
• Position the vehicle on the central stand.<br />
IMPORTANT Stop the engine and wait until the radiator has<br />
cooled down.<br />
• Remove the front inner shield, see 7.1.6 (REMOVING<br />
THE FRONT INNER SHIELD).<br />
• Disconnect connector (1).<br />
WARNING<br />
DO NOT DISPOSE OF THE COOLANT IN THE<br />
ENVIRONMENT.<br />
When the thermal switch (2) is unscrewed and<br />
removed, a small quantity of coolant will flow<br />
out of the thermal switch seating.<br />
Get a container with at least 1l (1,816 pt) capacity<br />
to collect the coolant.<br />
Put a cloth at the base of the radiator, to absorb<br />
the coolant that might have been spilt.<br />
• Unscrew and remove the thermal switch (2) and take<br />
the washer.<br />
WARNING<br />
Upon reassembly, apply LOCTITE® 572 on the<br />
threading of the thermal switch (2).<br />
