COOLING SYSTEM<br />

5.4. THE EXPANSION TANK<br />

5.4.1. REMOVING THE EXPANSION TANK<br />

• Position the vehicle on the central stand.<br />

• Remove the front inner shield, see 7.1.6 (REMOVING<br />

THE FRONT INNER SHIELD).<br />

WARNING<br />

DO NOT DISPOSE OF THE COOLANT IN THE<br />

ENVIRONMENT.<br />

When the hose (1) is withdrawn, the coolant<br />

present in the expansion tank (2) will flow out.<br />

Get a container with at least 1l capacity to collect<br />

the coolant. Put a cloth under the expansion<br />

tank, to absorb the coolant that might have<br />

been spilt.<br />

IMPORTANT Get pipe clamps screwdriver-type to replace<br />

the original ones (special type without screw).<br />

• Cut the clamp head (3).<br />

• Withdraw the hose (4) from the expansion tank coupling.<br />

• Cut the clamp head (5).<br />

• Withdraw the hose (1) from the expansion tank coupling<br />

(1).<br />

• Promptly put the container under the expansion tank<br />

and collect the coolant.<br />

WARNING<br />

The coolant is noxious.<br />

Keep the container in a safe place.<br />

KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN<br />

• Unscrew and remove the two screws (6).<br />

• Remove the expansion (2) tank.<br />
