Oktobra 2009 se je na
terasi Sunny studia v
Ljubljani slovesno začela
pisati nova zgodba. Philippe
Starck in Janez Škrabec
sta pogodbo o sodelovanju
in začetek nove blagovne
znamke Starck with Riko
zapečatila ob spremljavi
izvrstne glasbe in neverjetno
prijaznega vremena.
Starck in Riko sta sodelovala že pri gradnji luksuznega
naselja hiš The Lakes, v Cotswoldsu v Veliki Britaniji.

balmy weather.
Oba partnerja druži prepričanje, da je čas namenjen
konkretnim, učinkovitim dejanjem, ne filozofskim vprašanjem.
Ponuditi najboljše, kar je mogoče – najširši množici. Oba sta,
mnogo preden je to postalo širše popularno, začutila nujnost
postati in ostati naravi prijazen.
Pred nekaj leti sta že sodelovala pri gradnji luksuznega
naselja hiš, nedaleč od Londona. Starck je pri tem projektu
nastopil kot oblikovalec (sicer je tudi solastnik podjetja, ki je
bil investitor), Riko pa kot izvajalec.
Ko je začel Starck razmišljati o demokratični arhitekturi,
logičnemu nadaljevanju demokratičnega dizajna, si je seveda
zamislil najvišjo tehnologijo in industrijo, s pomočjo katere
bi ustvarjal domove – za vsakogar. Visoka kakovost za
dostopno ceno. Ko je iskal partnerja za ta projekt, je pregledal
vsa tovrstna podjetja po svetu. In sklenil, da je Riko najboljši:
v tehnologiji, v zagnanosti sodelavcev in v bistrem šefu, ki zna
gledati v prihodnost.
Starck je začetek sodelovanja označil kot začetek ustvarjanja
hiš, ki morda ne bodo arhitekturno revolucionarne, imele pa
bodo eleganco, inteligenco, lepoto in srečo ljudi, ki bodo živeli
v njih. S proizvodnjo ekoloških, energetsko varčnih in dobro
oblikovanih hiš bodo po napovedi Janeza Škrabca začeli v
letu 2010, prvo vzorčno hišo naj bi postavili spomladi blizu
Pariza. Starck pravi, da bo to njegov dom, saj želi živeti v
skladu z načeli, ki ga ženejo k ustvarjanju.
Both parties share the belief that the times call for constructive
action, not philosophical discussions. To offer the best there is –
to the greatest multitude of people. Even before the concept
had gained wider acceptance and popularity, both had sensed
the importance of returning to, and working with, rather than
against nature.
They have worked together before, on a luxury residential estate
not far from London with Starck as designer (and co-owner of the
development company), and RIKO as a contractor.
When Starck first started entertaining the idea of democratic
architecture as the logical next step in the evolution of democratic
design, needless to say his concept was based on the premise of
state-of-the-art technology and construction that would allow him to
design homes for everybody. Superior quality at affordable prices.
In his search for a partner to help him implement the project he
looked at every building company across the globe. Eventually he
decided that RIKO was the best choice in terms of technology, drive
and motivation of associates, and its shrewd, visionary leader.
Starck is the first to point out that while the architectural design
of the new homes won’t be revolutionary, it will, however, be
notable for its style, intelligence, beauty and the contentment of
the occupants. According to Janez Škrabec, the fabrication of
environmentally friendly, energy saving, well-designed homes is
set to get underway in 2010 with the first display home to be
completed in the spring in the vicinity of Paris. Starck says that that
will be his home as he wants to live in line with the principles, which
motivate him in his work.
