Whentheprinterison-line,itcanreceiveandprintdatafim thecomputer.<br />
Whentheprinterisoff-line,itstopsprintingandsendsthecomputerasignal<br />
indicat@gthatit cannotacceptdata.<br />
Theprinterpowersup in theon-linestatusif paperis loaded.If paperisnot<br />
loaded,thepnnterpowerxupoff-linewiththePAPER indicatorilluminating.<br />

Beforeand afterany otherpaneloperation<br />
The other panel buttons operate only in the off-line state. Press the<br />
ONLINF ]buttontogooff-line.Afterperfonningthepaneloperation(s),<br />
pressthe I ON LINE I buttonagainto go backon-line.<br />
To pauseduringprinting<br />
If you pnxs the [ ONLINE 1 buttonduringprinting,theprinterstops<br />
printingandgoesoff-line,allowingyoutochecktheprintoutorchangea<br />
control panel setting. Printing resumes when you press the<br />
~] buttonagainto go backon-line.<br />
Tocutfanfoldformsattheendof printing<br />
Whenyou holdthe I ONLINE 1 buttondownfor one secondwith the<br />
pushtractormode,theprintergoesoff-line,thentheprinteralsofeedsthe<br />
papertlmvad approximatelytwo inchesforwad. This allowsyouto cut<br />
it offjust belowthelast lineprinted.<br />
When you press the \ ONI INE [ buttonagainto go back on-line,the<br />
paperfeedsbackwardstoppingwhe~ youleft off.<br />
NOTE: This functionis validonlywhenthebufferis empty.<br />
PAPERFEED button<br />
If you pnxs this buttonwhilethe printeris off-line,the paperwill feed<br />
forwad If youholdthe buttondown,the printerwillperformconsecutive<br />
line feeds.<br />
If you also pressthe I ONLINE 1 buttonwhileyou m! line-feeding,the<br />
paperwillfeed automaticallyto thetop of thenextpage.This is explained<br />
later.<br />
