suggestion and chases after the object at around 115km ph, honking his horn
violently trying to get the object’s attention. The object that was moving at about
the speed of an automobile again stops and suddenly according to the witness his
vehicle suddenly came to a stop, he released the accelerator and the car came to a
sudden stop, without him applying the brakes. According to the witnesses the
vehicle acted like ‘a boat floating on water’. At this point the children onboard the
vehicle that were previously indifferent are now petrified. The witness’ vehicle is
now motionless in the middle of the road; they cannot remember seeing any other
vehicle pass by them from the beginning of the encounter. The object is now close to
the electrical pole on the north side of the road. At this point the object rotates on its
axis without moving its dangling ‘legs’. It has a strange shape which the children
could only compare to a “California grape” from the famed commercial. The long
dangling legs hang limply beneath the object. They appeared to have joints and are
very dark in color; the area beneath the knee seemed soft while to top area seemed
rigid. The main body of the object is of an indefinable color that could have been
brown-yellow. Somewhere towards the top of this form a very intense red light
appears, they describe it as ‘an unearthly light that they had never seen before’. All
their eyes are riveted on the light that emanates from the ‘creature’. Not a word is
exchanged in the car. At this point they are all convinced that this ‘object’ is alive.
As the witness look at the red light, it suddenly decreases in intensity and it becomes
clear that it originates from a pair of very large round eyes.
The legs on the creature are a little over a meter long, they are large enough to have
15cm thighs and 25 inch calves. The head or trunk is one meter wide by just over
one meter in length. The eyes are the size of a cup of coffee. This is the only occasion
in which the creature is seen from the front. When the red light from the creature’s
eyes is extinguished, the creature resumes its course eastward and away from the
road. The main witness recounts that at the same time that the red light became
very intense, he did not hear, but ‘felt’ a sort of message in his head that said,
“Leave me in peace!” The creature then moved parallel to the road at the speed of
the automobile and was seen going into a nearby field where it ‘somersaulted’ above
a herd of cattle causing them to scatter. At this point the witnesses see other vehicles
parked alongside the road apparently watching the strange spectacle.
Later the main witness told the investigator (Casault) that at times he felt very
nervous even at one point visceral fear during the experience.
