“The newly renovated St George is wowing returning guests all over again.”
Entering the vast atrium at the entrance to this hotel makes you
feel rather small - in the nicest possible way. It’s because it’s so
cavernous - shining marble floors and tall white columns stretch
way above the open staircases. Almost like pillars on a giant
wedding cake.
It’s an impressive introduction. And closer acquaintance
doesn’t disappoint. The recent renovations have added a
contemporary zip to this beachside hotel. The lobby is a case in
point, dotted with wicker-backed chairs and glass-topped
coffee tables.The bedrooms, meanwhile, are fairly simple, with
bright splashes of colour coming from the funky bedspreads.
Outside, a big spacious swimming pool takes centre-stage.
Facing out to sea, it’s got waterfalls and a pool bar you can swim
up to. Extensive terraces and lawns provide lots of space for
loungers and parasols. You’ve also got the option of an
indoor pool. Elsewhere, tennis, squash courts, watersports and a
gym ensure there’s always plenty to do. And where relaxation is
concerned, the spa here is particularly impressive. The slender
columns and mosaic tiles give it an almost Roman feel.
If the hotel has a final trump card, it’s the staff. Ever attentive
and friendly, they go out of their way to meet your every need.
Not surprising that people keep coming back to the St George.
