The odds of completing an open-ended Straight draw with<br />

2 draws to come are a lot better than with only one draw<br />

left. In the above example, the odds of making the Straight<br />

on the Turn are almost 5 : 1. As you can see below, the odds<br />

of making the Straight on EITHER or both the Turn or<br />

River are just over 2 : 1.<br />

Of 47 unseen cards, 8 will make the straight and 39 will not:<br />

8 * 39 = 312<br />

312 2-card combinations will contain 1 and only 1 Straight<br />

card.<br />

(8 * 7) = 28<br />

(1 * 2)<br />

28 2-card combinations will contain 2 Straight cards including<br />

the possibility of a Pair.<br />

312 + 28 = 340 possible 2-card combinations that WILL<br />

make the Straight:<br />

Total Possibilities = 1,081<br />

– WILLs = 340<br />

WILLNOTs = 741<br />
