2. The Basic Calculations<br />

After the Flop and with 2 cards to come, regardless of the<br />

hand, any player still involved must know:<br />

1. The odds of improvement on the next card (the<br />

Turn)<br />

2. The odds of improvement over the next two cards<br />

(the Turn and the River)<br />

3. The odds of hitting certain Runner-Runner hands.<br />

Odds of Improvement on the Turn<br />

With the Turn card to come, the odds calculation for the various<br />

hands is straightforward. The only number that changes<br />

is the number of outs.<br />

After the Flop and before the Turn, counting your 4 hole<br />

cards, there are 45 unseen cards.<br />

Low Draw & Flush Draw >>> Low or Flush<br />

There are 16 cards that will complete the Low, plus 9 cards<br />

that will make the Flush, minus 4 cards that are counted<br />

among those that will make the Low — 16 + 9 – 4 = 21:<br />

Total Possibilities = 45<br />

– WILLs = 21<br />
