ORDINARY COUNCIL MINUTES – 15 DECEMBER 2010 8
The meeting of the Country Local Government Fund regional group met recently
in Carnarvon to pursue expenditure of funds on projects with a regional focus.
The group has agreed that the funds for Exmouth and Shark Bay should be
spent on renewable energy installation, whilst Carnarvon has also included a
component of underground power. Costings are still being considered, however
expect to see the installation of banks of solar panels on Shire facilities
(such as the Discovery Centre) in the near future, this will reduce power
consumption and result in the reduction of ratepayer funds being spent on this utility.
