Port of Vienna’s success is
based on its position: located
approximately 2,000 kilometres
from the Black Sea and 1,500
kilometres from the North Sea.
It is optimally and directly
linked to ship, rail and road
transport services and situated
in close proximity to Vienna’s
International Airport in
Schwechat.

The port is located right next to
three Trans-European transport
routes and thus, represents
one of the most important
transport hubs in the international
hinterland-freight transportation industry.
Such location benefits – combined
with the efficiency of one of
the biggest hinterland container terminals
and a huge car terminal - have
a positive impact on the economic
importance of the Port of Vienna in
the entire CEE region making it the
perfect hub between East and West.
The Hafen Wien logistics centre
is the largest public Danube port in
Austria including the shipping ports
of Freudenau, Albern and Lobau.
Moreover, the passenger ports next to
the Reichsbrücke and the Danube Canal
